Computer selection programs predict chiller performance based on laboratory testing. Factory performance tests confirm that the actual chiller performance matches the predicted performance. A chiller performance test-stand was designed that allow a water cooled chiller to be testes in accordance with AHRI 550/590 specification. Also part of the design scope was a data acquisition system that record all the data every 14 seconds and generate the AHRI required report. Customers can connect remotely to the test-stand and by controlling the test-stand set-points can simulate true field conditions and observe the chiller performance. Energy that comes into system must equal the energy that comes out so the energy balance calculations confirm the test validity. The test-stand was certify as "AHRI certified" by third party.
